Egon Schiele (1890-1918)

was somewhat infamous

for his depictions of twisted nude bodies

of raw sensuality and 

disturbing intensity.

His wife succumbed to the 1918 flu pandemic,

and three days later,

 Egon himself died at age 28.

Egon's mentor, Vienna Secessionist artist

Gustav Klimt, also died from complications

contracted during the 1918 flu pandemic.
