The consequences of self isolation:
Sterling Hayden
March 26, 1916 - May 23, 1986
Your blogger has a female friend of a certain age who lives in the past.
Specifically Hollywood's Golden Age.
She is drowned in sorrow because she cannot hold her annual
Sterling Hayden birthday bash.
You see, tomorrow is the 104th anniversary of his birth: March 26, 1916.
Hayden was a 6'5" tower of blond beefcake.
I feel for you, because I had never heard of him either.
He was well before our time, but not beyond present-day appreciation.
His second Hollywood feature was Bahama Passage (1941),
based on a novel by Nelson Hayes titled
(wait for it)
Dildo Cay.
Swear to god.
Just a teaser.
More about the "reluctant actor" Hayden in my next post.
