Holiday musings from your
blogger:
I don’t patronize
Chick-fil-a, for obvious political reasons. However, a colleague informed me
that their Christmas Muzak soundtrack included many selections performed by
saxophonist Dave Koz, a well-known gay (out and proud) jazz musician and radio
host. Seeking verification, I trotted over to our local outpost with my Shazam
app in hand. I did this during their early breakfast hours, because the risk of
being spotted was lowest at that time – I’d have to put a bag over my head to
enter their premises during lunch or dinner times. Sure enough, four Dave Koz
tracks played during my breakfast repast. It warmed my subversive heart that
the person responsible for Chick-fil-a’s Christmas play list was putting one
over on the owners. By the way, the chicken hash brown scramble bowl was
delicious, especially with the fruit cup substituting for a box of extra potato
hash browns. Not to mention the movie star handsome twenty something young man
whose “pleasure” it was to serve me. Indeed. The pleasure was all mine.
BTW: I have featured Dave Koz*
on my other blog, Gay Influence.
*Although small in stature at
5’7”, Mr. Koz has amassed a sizeable fortune (est. $6 million) as an out gay
musician.
Holiday musings, Part II:
Melania: I’m with STUPID.
Fake (News) President Trump
and his post-escorting-career wife attended Christmas Eve services at
Washington National Cathedral, known for its ultra-liberal bent. Trump is so
ignorant that he probably didn’t know that. Or that it is an Episcopal
cathedral. Trump maligns Presbyterians with his claim to be one of them, and Slovene
native Melania is Catholic, as are most East-Europeans (at least nominally). So
what were they doing in an Episcopal cathedral? Anyhow, the sermon had already
been written when Bishop Mariann Edgar Budd learned, just moments before their
arrival, that the Trumps were planning to attend. She delivered her sermon from
her original text. Something about human cruelty, the abuse of power and the
turning away of refugees “in their greatest hour of need.” The fact that Trump
had to listen to that message delivered by a WOMAN warms my expansive sense of
Schadenfreude.
