Hollywood Fundraiser for Pete Buttigieg

From The Hollywood Reporter: "The prospect of the first openly gay commander-in-chief is creating an unprecedented coalition of some of Hollywood's most powerful gay producers, writers, agents and executives who are ready to open their home and checkbooks to support the candidacy of 37-year-old Pete Buttigieg. The high-profile industry fundraiser will be held June 19 in Los Angeles at the home of TV superproducer Ryan Murphy (b. 1965) and husband David Miller (left in photo above), with some of Hollywood's most potent gay power players and couples ready to attach their name as co-sponsors of the event.

The Murphy/Miller home (above) is a Beverly Hills Spanish Colonial-style mansion built in 1927 and purchased from Diane Keaton, who had painstakingly restored it. In 2012 they hosted a fundraising dinner for President Obama at this house, located near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Rodeo Drive.

Like Mayor Pete, Murphy was also born and raised Catholic in Indiana and continues to worship in that faith. Murphy has had an astonishingly successful career, writing/producing/directing landmark television series such as Glee (six seasons), Nip/Tuck (six seasons), American Horror Story (tenth season to air in 2020) and American Crime Story. Films include The Normal Heart and Eat, Pray, Love. Last year Murphy was hired by Netflix for a compensation of $300 million over five years. That's one fat checkbook.
