Olympics on my mind...
Figure skater Javier Fernández (Spain) became a 2018 Olympics bronze medalist on February 17, when “Javi” (as known to his fan base) won the first ever Olympic figure skating medal for Spain. Sadly, at age 26 he announced that this will be his last participation in the Olympic Games. And more’s the pity. His bona fides: two-time World Champion, six-time consecutive European Champion, three-time Grand Prix Final medalist, and eight-time Spanish National Champion.
Watch his flawless second short program (music: Charlie Chaplin “Modern Times”, below). His combination of artistic and technical skills is astounding. Even without sequins.
