December 25

Lux Aurumque by Eric Whitacre
Light, warm and heavy as pure gold;
and angels sing softly to the new-born babe.

Lux, calida gravisque pura velut aurum,
et canunt angeli molliter modo natum.

Eric Whitacre (born 1970, Las Vegas, Nevada) conducts his ethereal Christmas composition Lux Aurumque, performed by a virtual choir of 185 voices from 12 countries. The text is an original poem by Edward Esch, translated into Latin by Charles Anthony Silvestri. A choral gift to my blog followers who celebrate Christmas. Peace and love.
